Keeping BASICS Hampshire on the road – even with the doctors volunteering their time – costs money. Bitterne Conservative Club raised well over two thousand pounds in 2010 and bless them.
Sylvie Painter suggested us to the club as their charity of the year and they ran with it. BASICS Chairman Dr Deirdre Dunbar went to collect the cheque from chairman Jim Gauld and Mrs Painter and to thank the club:
“We’re a voluntary service which we’re determined should be included in the NHS, since it would save more lives and money,” Dr Dunbar said.. “In the meantime, contributions like yours – which are so welcome – mean we can keep going as a voluntary service.”
