Glidescope

Glidescope

A device which not only allows us to intubate the patient (put a tube down the throat into the patient’s respiratory tract to allow them to be put on a breathing machine) but gives us a view of the larynx on screen. This can win time in a difficult intubation where patients need to be put swiftly onto a breathing machine but where their position or condition mean the larynx is difficult to see and access. COST: £6,000
